Our Priorities

ACTS is working with diagnostic manufacturers such as Abbott, Cepheid, IMMY, Sedia Biosciences, and many others to identify sound solutions that slow disease transmission and reduce the impact of sexually transmitted diseases. Our focus is on advocating for affordable, community-level diagnostics and integrating Hepatitis B care into HIV diagnostics and public health programs.

We are passionate about ending HIV and AIDS. In Ghana, over 150,000 people are unaware of their HIV status. Early diagnosis through rapid testing technologies like finger prick tests can speed up access to treatment, care, and counseling. Opportunistic infections like TB and Cryptococcal meningitis are also diagnosed early using point-of-care devices such as TB LAM and CrAg LFA.

HIV Testing Technologies

ACTS utilizes cutting-edge HIV testing technologies, including rapid diagnostic tests and confirmatory kits, to diagnose and reconfirm HIV, Syphilis, Hepatitis B, and more. These tests also help monitor viral loads and CD4 counts, ensuring effective HIV care.

4th Generation HIV Technology

The first FDA-approved rapid test that detects both HIV-1/2 antibodies and HIV-1 p24 antigen. This 4th generation test helps identify HIV earlier, enabling individuals to seek medical care sooner.

One Minute HIV Test

The INSTI® HIV-1/HIV-2 Antibody Test provides rapid results in just one minute, allowing for faster diagnosis and linkage to care.

Geenius HIV 1/2 Confirmatory Test Kits

Geenius provides accurate confirmation of HIV-1/2 diagnoses.

The SAMBA II platform delivers fast, accurate viral load testing, making HIV monitoring accessible even in remote locations.

Advanced Diagnostics

CrAg LFA (Cryptococcal Antigen Lateral Flow Assay)

The IMMY CrAg LFA is revolutionizing Cryptococcal antigen testing by providing highly sensitive and rapid results, enabling early diagnosis of Cryptococcal meningitis in people living with HIV.

TB LAM

TB LAM is a critical tool for diagnosing tuberculosis in people with advanced HIV, especially in resource-limited settings.

Future Directions

We Aim to have more collaboration with Global partners in the diagnostics space as well as donors and Funders in order to improve access to live saving treatment and diagnostics in low and middle income countries with more focus on Ghana
