ACTS Ghana is here to support women living with HIV and their children. Whether you're newly diagnosed, pregnant, or have been living with HIV for years, we offer a variety of services to empower you and ensure the well-being of your child.

Pregnant and Living with HIV?

If you're pregnant and living with HIV, ACTS Ghana can help:

  • Free Baby Formula Program: We understand the challenges of affording formula. Our program provides NAN 1 formula for the first six months of your baby's life, along with feeding bottles, sterilizers, and clean water.
  • Eligibility: To qualify, you must be pregnant and living with HIV, have a viral load above 20 copies, and be unemployed. You may also qualify if your viral load is unknown at delivery and cannot afford formula.
  • Breastfeeding Support: For mothers who are undetectable (have an undetectable viral load) and choose to breastfeed, ACTS Ghana offers support from lactation consultants to ensure a successful breastfeeding journey.
  • Making Informed Choices: We believe every mother has the right to choose the feeding method that is best for them and their baby. However, we also emphasize the importance of preventing HIV transmission to your child. Our team can provide information and support to help you make the best decision for your family.
  • HIV & Infant Feeding Registry: ACTS Ghana is establishing a registry to study the feeding patterns of mothers living with HIV and their babies. This data will be used to develop better policies and support for feeding options for infants born to mothers with HIV.
